Students who meet the following conditions will be considered for the University of Texas at Austin Transfer Scholarships.
This grant is limited to students who are transferring directly from another college.
New transfer students who are approved and confirm their plan to enroll before May 1, the start of the academic year, will be evaluated for academic scholarships.
Funding is limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. To be considered for any scholarship, all students must first submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). There are no separate scholarship applications.
If a student does not file an FAFSA for each renewal year by the first day of class, they will no longer be eligible for the award.
Transfer scholarships are not available to second bachelor’s, re-admit, high school dual credit, or temporary students.
Students can only receive one of the following scholarships: the Transfer Presidential Scholarship or the Tyler Junior College Transfer Scholarship.
University of Texas at Austin Transfer Scholarships
- Award Amount: $2,000
- Admission Application Deadline: May 1
- Scholarship Criteria: 30 completed semester credits at the time of admission and 3.0+ cumulative GPA
- No scholarship application is required
The following must be submitted no later than May 1:
- Must submit official college transcripts
Additional Requirement:
- Enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester (fall and spring) at UT Tyler.
Renewal Requirements:
- Transfer scholarships are renewable for one academic year after their first award. There is no application necessary for renewal.
- Obtain 12 credit hours from UT Tyler for the semester(s) given.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA at UT Tyler to be eligible for the Tyler Junior College Transfer Scholarship, worth $2,000.
- Admission Application Deadline: May 1
- Scholarship Criteria: 30 completed semester credits at the time of admission and 3.0+ cumulative GPA
- No scholarship application is required
- The following must be submitted no later than May 1:

Reach Higher/Patriotic Promise The scholarship award includes full tuition and mandatory fees.
Admission Application Deadline: May 1.
University of Texas at Austin Transfer Scholarships Scholarship criteria:
- Be part of a household with an adjusted gross income of up to $80,000.
- Enroll as a full-time student at the University of Texas at Tyler. The scholarship will help to finance up to 30 credit hours each year.
- No scholarship application is necessary.
- To qualify, students must fulfill the following conditions before May 1:
- Must be admitted.
- US Citizens and Permanent Residents Must Submit an FAFSA.
- Must be a Texas resident for tuition purposes.
Additional Requirements
Graduate from a Texas high school, enroll in the University of Texas at Tyler within seven months of graduation, or transfer from another college.
US citizens and permanent residents must complete an FAFSA every year.
Renewal Requirements:
- Must keep full-time enrollment.
- US citizens and permanent residents must file an FAFSA annually and continue to meet the income criterion.
- Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
