Submitting an FAFSA instantly qualifies you for aid from Purdue and the federal and state governments, including grants and Federal Work-Study.
To apply for additional Purdue scholarships, you must go through additional steps, including submitting a new application.
Purdue University Scholarship Application
1. Incoming students:
To apply for Purdue’s merit scholarships, submit your entire admissions application by the November 1 Early Action Application deadline.
In addition to submitting a comprehensive admissions application by the Early Action deadline, new students applying to the institutions listed below must also complete the Purdue Departmental Scholarship Application by February 15 to be considered for extra college and school scholarships.

Scholarships offered through the Purdue Departmental Scholarship Application are based on need, merit, or a combination of both.
If you want to be evaluated for need-based scholarships, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 15. Please be aware that this date differs from Purdue’s priority FAFSA deadline of April 15.

University Scholarships and Financial Aid
The Division of Financial Aid provides merit- and need-based scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study opportunities.
To be considered for all federal, state, and institutional grants, students should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15th of the following academic year.
Applications submitted after this period may make students ineligible for some types of state financial help. Continuing student financial assistance notifications start in July of each year.
College of Science Scholarship Application
Scholarship committees in each department and at the college level make decisions about continuing student scholarships. While the majority of scholarships just require completion of the College of Science Scholarship Application, in some cases, extra paperwork may be required.
The scholarship committee will send information requests to qualified candidates via their Purdue email addresses.
To be considered for a scholarship, students must complete the Continuing Student Scholarship Application.
Applications should be completed well in advance of the February 1 deadline to avoid problems with application submission. Application questions may be evaluated before submission.
Students are also highly encouraged to complete their profile in Scholarship Universe, which allows them to view and apply for external (non-Purdue) scholarships.
Scholarship Universe recommends awards and scholarships (including Purdue scholarships) depending on each student’s profile.
Only students who receive a scholarship grant will be notified of the results of the scholarship procedure. Continuing students should not contact the College of Science with questions concerning the scholarship awarding process.
Jandos Scholarship Program
The Jandos scholarship program is open to all College of Science students who want to work with other students to improve their understanding of the benefits of living, learning, and growing in a diverse university setting.
Scholarship winners must agree to participate in program requirements to preserve their scholarship. The Jandos Scholarship is for one year and cannot be renewed.
Program criteria include remaining enrolled in the College of Science on the West Lafayette campus for the 2024–25 school year.
During the Spring 2024 semester, I was classified as a semester 2–6 (number of semesters I attended Purdue).
Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above.
Actively participate in the monthly Jandos Scholarship cohort sessions.
Actively participate in monthly Women in Science Program (WISP) meetings while also acting as an active WISP mentor for the 2024–25 academic year (this portion of involvement will be chosen in August 2024).
Promote diversity efforts in the College of Science.
The Women In Science Program supports women, non-binary people, and male advocates.
Jandos Scholarship Application
The priority deadline for scholarship consideration is February 1.
Alan & Sharon The Levy Scholarship
The Levy grant was established to recognize College of Science students who have actively promoted diversity initiatives by participating in Science Diversity office programs. Students who meet the following qualifications will be considered for a scholarship award.
A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
During the academic years 2023 and 2024, I was a student at the College of Science.
Participation in two or more College of Science diversity initiatives.
Collaborated with the Science Diversity Office to further the College of Science’s diversity goals.
Financial necessity will be considered when determining final scholarship allocations.
To be considered for this funding opportunity, students must first complete the Continuing Student funding Application.
The priority deadline for scholarship consideration is February 1.
Computer Science Scholarships
Computer Science majors are urged to submit both the CS Scholarship Application and the College of Science Continuing Student Scholarship Application to be considered for the entire scholarship. The priority deadline for scholarship consideration is January 14, 2024.
