The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Foundation established this fellowship to honor Albert W. Dent, ACHE’s first African-American Fellow.
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial aid to minority students seeking a master’s degree in healthcare management.
The award is intended for minority students in their last year of a healthcare management graduate degree. To be accepted for this scholarship, a student must complete the following:
- You are a minority student completing your final year of full-time study in a healthcare management graduate program.
- Preference is given to applicants who are ACHE Student Associates, while this is not a requirement.
- You can demonstrate financial need.
- You are a United States or Canadian citizen.

2. The Bachrach Family Scholarship for Excellence in Health Care Administration
To be eligible for this grant, students must be enrolled in a graduate program in Healthcare Administration and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Students must have professional goals that will lead to employment in medical practice administration.
Applicants from poor backgrounds will be given preference, as will those who are the first in their family to seek a graduate degree.

3. Bill and Mary Russell Scholarship
The Bill and Mary Russell Scholarship Fund gives financial help to students pursuing educational opportunities in nursing or health care.
At least 50 percent of the money allocated will go toward nursing scholarships.
The remaining money will be distributed to individuals seeking educational opportunities in other clinical or patient care programs.
Applicants must reside in the Heartland Foundation’s service area, which includes Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas.

4. Campus Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA) Scholarship Award
The Campus Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA) provides an annual $2,000 award to encourage students to pursue studies in environmental and occupational health, safety, and related subjects.
The program is open to all college undergraduate and graduate students in any major or field who are enrolled in 12 credit hours every semester.
The scholarship winner is also invited to the CSHEMA annual conference, which includes registration, accommodation, and travel.

5. Corris Boyd Scholars Program
The Corris Boyd Scholars Program honors a healthcare professional who committed his life to diversity and leadership achievement, particularly among people of color.
Recipients of this award will receive a $40,000 grant to cover tuition and other expenses at their preferred AUPHA-recognized graduate program.
The reward will be paid in four installments: August, December, August, and December. At the time of awarding, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Have applied and been accepted into an AUPHA Full Member Master’s Degree Program that will begin in the Fall semester (not before August 1)
Be a student of color (African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian American, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Latino/Hispanic, multiracial).
Have a minimum 3.0 GPA in undergraduate courses.

6. David A. Winston Health Policy Scholarship
The David A. Winston Health Policy Scholarship aims to foster high-quality individuals trained in healthcare policy at the state and federal levels.
This scholarship program can help generate more healthcare professionals in the sector by providing financial support to health policy students as they pursue their studies.
The award honors student performance and achievement based on their academic record, recommendations from instructors and colleagues, and a significant interest in and commitment to health policy.

The Elliott C. Roberts Scholarship is open to first and second-year graduate students seeking degrees in healthcare administration or a related program (MBA, MPH, MHA, MPA, MSN, or BSN).

8. Foster G. McGaw Graduate Student Scholarship
The Foster G. McGaw Scholarship was established by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Foundation in honor of the American Hospital Supply Corporation’s founder.
This grant provides financial aid to recipients enrolled in a healthcare management graduate program to help cover tuition, student debt, and other expenses. To be accepted for this scholarship, a student must complete the following:
You are a minority student completing your last year (fall or spring) of full-time study in a healthcare administration graduate program (MHA, MPH, MBA in Healthcare Administration, or equivalent).
The American College of Healthcare Executives does not require you to be a student associate.
However, during the selection process, preference is given to ACHE Student Associates.

9. The Gates Millennium Scholars Program
Every year, the Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program selects 1,000 brilliant students to receive a “good-through-graduation” award that can be used at any college or university of their choice.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation provided full funding for the GMS Program. The purpose of this program is to provide exceptional African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, and Hispanic American students with the chance to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline of interest.
Continuing Gates Millennium Scholars may seek financing for a graduate degree program in one of the following disciplines: computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health, or science.

10. Harry J. Harwick Scholarship
The Harry J. Harwick Scholarship was established to benefit students enrolled in a graduate program certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) or an undergraduate program affiliated with the Association of University Programs in Health Administration.
Each applicant must send a letter defining their career goals and objectives, a CV with employment history and a narrative describing employment responsibilities in the health care field, and three letters of recommendation. The applicant must attend an ACEHSA or AUPHA-accredited school.
