Aspiring nurses from around the world who come to the United States to complete their degrees can often find scholarships, fellowships, and even work-study opportunities.

All international students must get a student visa before studying in the United States. However, their attendance in undergraduate or postgraduate nursing education programs is normally the same as that of US citizens.
To be eligible for licensure, applicants must submit a formal application to an accredited institution, complete all required coursework and clinical hours, and pass the NCLEX examination.
Scholarships for RN to BSN Programs

1. After-College/AACN Scholarship Fund
This $10,000 award is available to nursing students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees.
Students pursuing a master’s or doctorate degree to become nursing faculty members, completing an RN to BSN program, or enrolling in an accelerated bachelor’s or master’s graduate program will receive particular consideration for this funding.
Applicants to the scholarship fund can submit their applications several times throughout the year, including deadlines on June 30th, September 30th, December 30th, and March 30th.
2. The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses Foundation
The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses Foundation awards a $2,500 scholarship each year to registered nurses enrolled in a full-time or part-time accredited baccalaureate nursing program in the United States or Canada.
To enroll, students must have an interest in environmental or occupational health.
Full- and part-time graduate students may also be eligible if their topic of study has some connection to occupational and environmental health.
The deadline for applying is January 10th.

3. AORN Foundation Scholarship Program.
Current registered nurses or AORN participants enrolled in an accredited nursing program are eligible for this grant, which is sponsored by the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses.
Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need to be eligible. The award amount varies, and the deadline for applying for the scholarship is June 15.
4. BSN Scholarship
This $1,500 grant is only available to presently active Rehabilitation Nurses who are enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in nursing.
At the very least, students must have completed one course, worked as a rehabilitation nurse, and had two years of field experience.
Students must submit an application, transcripts, a statement of academic and professional goals and accomplishments, and three letters of recommendation to be considered.
The submission date has been extended until June 1st.
5. Colorado Nurses Association Nightingale Scholarship
Residents of Colorado who belong to either the Colorado Nurses Association or the Colorado Student Nurses Association are eligible to apply for this prize.
ASN students in their second year, BSN students in their third or fourth year, and registered nurses in their fifth or sixth year are all able to apply.
Registered nurses pursuing their Ph.D. courses are also qualified. All undergraduate and graduate students should have a GPA of 3.25 or higher.
To practice in Colorado, students must plan to do so after completing their schooling. The award is worth $1,000, and applications must be submitted by October 26th.
6. Foundation of the National Student Nurses Association Career Mobility Scholarship
The National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) offers a scholarship for nursing and pre-nursing students.
To be eligible for this program, students must be pursuing an LPN to RN, RN to BSN, or RN to MSN degree.
The deadline for scholarship applications is January 14th, and qualifying students will receive scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,500.
7. Thomara Lattimer Cancer Foundation Scholarship.
African-American students aged 17 to 30 are eligible to apply for this prize.
Aside from that, they must have a 3.0 GPA, live in Michigan, and be enrolled in a reputable postsecondary institution.
Aside from that, they must be pursuing one of the many health-related careers accessible, such as nursing, medicine, occupational or physical therapy, or physician assisting.
The scholarship value varies, and the deadline for applications is December 27th.
8. A Nurse I Am Scholarship
This award is open to students who are currently enrolled (or have been accepted) in an authorized LVN/LPN, RN (ADN or BSN), or RN-BSN program.
Students might attend school full-time or part-time. Students must be U.S. citizens and attend school there. The prize is $2,000, and the application deadline is March 1st.
9. Nurse Corps Scholarship Program
Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in a nursing school program leading to a diploma, associate’s, baccalaureate, or master’s degree.
Legal residents of the United States must enroll. Scholarship winners must work in a Critical Shortage Facility for two years following graduation.
Full-time students enrolled in authorized programs with the greatest financial need are given precedence. The award value varies, and applications must be filed by May 2nd.
10. Tafford Uniforms’ Nursing Scholarship Program
Students who want to be considered for this prize must be enrolled in a recognized institution program in the United States and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
Participants in a bachelor’s of science in nursing, a master’s of science in nursing, a licensed practical nurse program, or an associate degree in nursing are eligible to apply.
The scholarship application deadline is June 1st, and the prize amount is $1,000.
11. Medical Professionals of Tomorrow Scholarship
This award is for full-time college students seeking a profession in the medical field, including nursing, as part of their academic program.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a recognized two-year, four-year, or graduate school in the United States.
Students must prepare an essay outlining why they chose their current field of study and what they hope to accomplish as a result of their studies.
The scholarship submission deadline is December 31st, and the grant amounts range from $500 to $3,500, depending on the number of candidates.
12. Greta James Nursing Scholarship
Applicants for this grant must be currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in a recognized nursing college at the time of application.
Applicants must respond to an essay question explaining why they choose to pursue a nursing career and how their qualifications for the award qualify them for selection.
The application deadline is December 31st, and the scholarship committee will award two $2,500 scholarships to worthy candidates.
13. AAMN Foundation’s Student Nurse Essay Contest
The American Assembly for Men in Nursing offers this prize exclusively to male students seeking a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Candidates for the NCLEX-RN must be in their final year of a pre-nursing program designed to prepare them for the exam.
The $500 prize will be granted to the student who provides the best response to the essay question. The application date for the scholarship is July 1st.
